Anthony Schena, CCAT, CCHT

Anthony Schena, CCAT (Certified Companion Animal Rehabilitation Therapist), CCHT (Certified Canine Hydro Therapist), Owner, and Director of Operations, is certified through NC State College of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing animal physical rehabilitation therapy since 2020. He graduated from Union College in 2015 with a degree in Applied Science in Physical Therapy. After graduation, he worked in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy, with concentrations in both manual-based therapy and sports medicine, until his transition into the animal physical therapy world.

Anthony has proficiencies in Manual Therapy techniques, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, Kinesio-Taping/Athletic taping, Sports Rehabilitation & Return to Play, and Total-Joint Functional Rehabilitation.

Before Human Physical Therapy, Anthony was a Certified Personal Trainer focusing on Post-Rehabilitation/Strength and Conditioning.

Anthony is the proud pet parent of Miles, a charming Cockapoo, who has been his loyal sidekick through thick and thin. Miles was the catalyst for Anthony’s transition from human physical therapy to animal physical therapy. In 2019, Miles, who was 11 years old at the time, tore both of his ACLs/CCLs. After they were repaired, Anthony noticed a shortage of availability for quality animal physical therapy and decided to change that. And so began the creation of Alpha Animal Rehab & Fitness!

When it comes to his favorite animals to treat, Anthony’s heart belongs to dogs of all shapes and sizes. While he’s always up for a challenge, he admits cats aren’t quite his cup of tea.

Anthony has a hidden talent for improv. Whether it’s making up hilarious stories on the spot or bringing a bit of spontaneity to our clinic, he’s always ready to entertain and engage with a smile.
